Embracing New Beginnings: My First Official Set in Perth Since Moving Abroad

I can hardly believe it, but this November will mark a significant moment for me: my first official DJ set in Perth.

Since I arrived here, my gigs have been mostly house parties and small uni club sets in the walkways to promote events. Each experience helped shape who I am as a DJ. I was finally able to use and learn how to navigate the bigger decks with screens.

The Transition from Intimate Gatherings to a Proper Stage

This upcoming set represents a major step for me into the Perth music scene. Instead of a cozy gathering, I’ll be performing at an official event on a real stage. I've been diligently curating a collection of tracks of different genres that blend well to reflect my style. I am honestly proud of myself, being able to secure a gig while completing my studies abroad.

While I can’t share too many details just yet (stay tuned for an announcement soon), I can promise a night that connects my roots with my current musical interests. Expect a blend of hard groove and Latin beats, along with some classic tunes.

I have been to a few nightclubs and parties in Perth and i can say that the nightlife here is a remarkable blend of underground energy and genuine warmth. People here truly listen, move, and connect with the music. I've encountered talented creatives, many fellow DJs, and passionate dancers, making Perth feel less like an unknown city and more like a new home.

This performance holds great significance for me, not just as my official debut in Perth, but as the start of a new chapter in my journey as KIKS. It is a symbolic step, marking my transition from a local DJ in Singapore to someone ready to take the stage in a vibrant music scene in another country.

I am eager to unveil what I’ve been working on and finally share the full energy of KIKS with Perth. The anticipation is electric, and I can’t wait to see how the audience reacts to my music.
